LALBAUGCHA RAJA:- Only one day to go for Ganesh Chaturti but the preparation of Lalbaughcha raja starts from many months before. All the members of Lalbaughcha Raja SarvajanikGaneshotsave mandal start working to welcome this huge but loveable ShriGanesha. To show their love towards Ganesha, mandal’s people put efforts as much as they can. Because Lalbaughcha raja receives more than lakh devotees every year, mandal is responsible to manage all things very cleverly and nicely. They try to take all the needed defences so that devotees won’t cause any difficulty. Around one thousand eight hundred residents are appointed to help the madal to manage the whole Ganeshotsav, those people are called as ‘SAHAKARI SABHASAD’. As well as, another team of five thousand volunteersare too ready to support devotees. An exclusive Disaster Management training is too arranged with few volunteers to manage unforeseen calamity.

LALBAUGCHA RAJA

Along with Ganesh idol, it is too famous for their so much old Ganesh mandal. The first Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav began in 1934. At that time, not many people were coming to take a darshan but by realizing the power and holiness of this idol people start worshipping Lalbaghcha Raja. Maintaining and celebrating Ganesh festival every year with such a huge enthusiasm is just unbelievable still this mandals people find some time from their daily busy schedule for Lord Ganesha. If you will go and see the whole scenario of Lalbaughcha Raja, I am sure you will automatically become devotee of this sacred god. The complete area of Lalbaugh transforms into pilgrimage, long and long queues, spiritual songs, decoration, Ganesha’s different pictures, small stores of flowers and sweets, in few seconds you will just mesmerize. To manage the crowd, mandal make two queues, one is much darshan and another is ‘navsa chi line; people can prefer any queues as per their preference, people who come from far away they prefer much darshanbeause if you will stand in much darshan line then after two days you will get to see Lord Ganesha and if you have stood in navsachi line then you will reach at idol on third or fourth day.

After experiencing the soul flourishing environment, another magic is the huge idol of Lalbaughcha raja, beautiful, if you have less words to describe the complete glow of Ganesh’s idol. When you will see the idol, that time you will come to know why so many people are mad for this Ganesha. For a moment feel like all the problems, all tensions, which we have will vanish in a minute by Ganesha’s such huge hands. There is no doubt that entire Ganesh idol is amazing and marvellous but the most pleasant and loveable aspect is Ganesh’s small but glowing eyes.  These small eyes look numbers of problems presented by devotees during the whole festival.Members of mandal put more beauty in the look of Ganesha by flowers, jewellery, colourful authentic costume and many more. They dress idol by different colours of shela and dhoti, which is traditional way of dressing. After dress, they start putting different jewellery items donated by devotees as their love. Every year idol’s sitting position changes, few times it is on one leg and sometimes on both leg but every year murti is positioned over Raj Asan. The whole eleven days of festival people do many things for Lord Ganesha like one does for a baby. Because after completion of festival, Lord Ganesh a goes back that is called ‘Visarjan’. The way people welcome Lord Ganesha on festival’s first day same way they also say good bye but with lots of happiness, joy and little sorrow because all people wait for this festival from the starting of year to praise the Lord Ganesha.

Siddhivinayak Temple: Ganpati Mandir, Mumbai

The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir, situated in the heart of the City of Mumbai, at Prabhadevi. It was built in the year 1801 by one Mr. Laxman Vithu and Mrs. Deubai Patil. The exact date as per the records is November 19th, 1801.
They say Lord Ganesha grants everyone their wishes- 9 Tuesdays for a young girl looking for a groom, 3 for someone who needs a job, unlimited Tuesdays or any other day for those who surrender to this God and ask him to grant whatever he thinks is right for them. The temple has become a landmark all over India as we see people traveling to Mumbai from all parts of the country to worship Ganpati Bappa at the Siddhivinayak Temple.
Although, the security has been really beefed up in recent times as the mandir has been on the hitlist of many terrorists, it is still the one place you cannot afford not to visit in Mumbai.
No laptops or cameras are allowed inside the sanctorium. Mobile phones are allowed but you are requested to keep them off once you enter the security check at the main gate.
Also, there is a special gate where you can pay 50 bucks to enter to avoid the serpentine queues at the general gate. This gate does have a queue but it is considerably less than the general gate. Also there are special VIP entrances for which you can pay a lumpsum donation amount starting from about Rs. 5000 to enter directly inside. This facility is generally availed of by Bollywood celebrities and politicians. The well known Desi celebs who visit the temple every tuesday are Ekta Kapoor (The most famous one, who walks all the way from Juhu).
Amitabh Bachchan and his family, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai are quite regulars at the temple too. Many more celebs pledge their faith here and believe in the good blessings of Lord Ganesha.
So if you are in Mumbai, this is the hot spot to visit and get blessed for life.
