LALBAUGCHA RAJA:- Only one day to go for Ganesh Chaturti but the preparation of Lalbaughcha raja starts from many months before. All the members of Lalbaughcha Raja SarvajanikGaneshotsave mandal start working to welcome this huge but loveable ShriGanesha. To show their love towards Ganesha, mandal’s people put efforts as much as they can. Because Lalbaughcha raja receives more than lakh devotees every year, mandal is responsible to manage all things very cleverly and nicely. They try to take all the needed defences so that devotees won’t cause any difficulty. Around one thousand eight hundred residents are appointed to help the madal to manage the whole Ganeshotsav, those people are called as ‘SAHAKARI SABHASAD’. As well as, another team of five thousand volunteersare too ready to support devotees. An exclusive Disaster Management training is too arranged with few volunteers to manage unforeseen calamity.
Along with Ganesh idol, it is too famous for their so much old Ganesh mandal. The first Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav began in 1934. At that time, not many people were coming to take a darshan but by realizing the power and holiness of this idol people start worshipping Lalbaghcha Raja. Maintaining and celebrating Ganesh festival every year with such a huge enthusiasm is just unbelievable still this mandals people find some time from their daily busy schedule for Lord Ganesha. If you will go and see the whole scenario of Lalbaughcha Raja, I am sure you will automatically become devotee of this sacred god. The complete area of Lalbaugh transforms into pilgrimage, long and long queues, spiritual songs, decoration, Ganesha’s different pictures, small stores of flowers and sweets, in few seconds you will just mesmerize. To manage the crowd, mandal make two queues, one is much darshan and another is ‘navsa chi line; people can prefer any queues as per their preference, people who come from far away they prefer much darshanbeause if you will stand in much darshan line then after two days you will get to see Lord Ganesha and if you have stood in navsachi line then you will reach at idol on third or fourth day.

They dress idol by different colours of shela and dhoti, which is traditional way of dressing. After dress, they start putting different jewellery items donated by devotees as their love. Every year idol’s sitting position changes, few times it is on one leg and sometimes on both leg but every year murti is positioned over Raj Asan. The whole eleven days of festival people do many things for Lord Ganesha like one does for a baby. Because after completion of festival, Lord Ganesh a goes back that is called ‘Visarjan’.
